Brake setups that allow for 13 inch wheels
I did do a quick search, but I didn't find any results. Perhaps how I was searching was the problem.
Here is my situation. I have 1961 Morris Mini. I've be putting a b16a in it. I figure for many reasons, it will make sense to use honda front suspension parts(or custom arms using a honda hub, retain mini rear suspension parts, but adapt a honda hub. The goal being to run honda bearings, and have the 4x100 bolt pattern.
I'm going to be using 13 inch rims. So I want to source brakes, and it makes sense to go with a honda oem brake. The car will weigh around 1235lbs, so I don't need the worlds biggest brakes. It will mostly be autocross and hillclimb, which isn't terrible on brakes. It will do some track events, so I want to make sure to have a fade resistant setup.
I'm not opposed to a drum in the rear, if they can be light weight....heard rumors of a crx with aluminum drums in the back....not sure if those are rare or not....course I need to be able to get shoes with decent brake material on them too...so maybe not a drum.
The lighter I can make the setup, the better off I'll be.
IF this is the wrong forum for this type of post, mods please move it to where it best fits.
I wish I could say money is no object, but my wife won't let me. So the more grassroots we can keep it, the better.
Thanks,

Thanks,
90-91 crx Si front calipers are larger than other civic models but are the same knuckle/spindle as the regular civics. they will clear a honda OEM 13" wheel. but these hubs dont match the B16 axles. you typically use knuckles from an integra. i do not believe the integra oem brakes will accomodate anything less than a 14" wheel. not sure what can be custom done to make it work.
about the aluminum rear drums, they are from a 1st generation crx HF, and reused on a honda insight. so get them from the junkyard or the dealer sourced off the insight.

The 4-bolt Integra brakes WILL fit under at least some 13" wheels. Panasports will fit for sure as I had some for my car. The bigger TypeR brakes will only fit inside 15" min. I think the CRX HF had the aluminum drums. They are not available new anymore so you have to source used ones. For the slight weight increase, rear discs are easier to work on and may be easier to get proper balance through proportioning valves and compound choice though.
I have a line on 94 civic parts. Do they fit under 13's? Still a bit foggy, as to what model it is ex vs dx....I'm not a honda guy.
All Civic brakes will fit under 13"s in 94 so no problem. Most models have rear drums. If the brakes you get do have drums, I would not really sweat it. Get the proportioning valve if you can, get the master cylinder if you are going to use a Honda one.
That's good news, thanks.
Mohud huh? Hope to come down to one of your autocrosses. My budget will be tight though after the build. Are you folks working on getting the clinton county airport this year?

94b16, you are wrong. Trust me, I and many others have run 13" wheels on 94+ Integras for autocross and they did in fact fit over the brakes. Mine were 8.5" wide Panasports with a 5" backspace. I have no idea what others fit but I know for a fact that those do. I doubt any factory 13's will fit. Clearances are very tight but nothing rubs. I could even run full thickness brake pads.
Sachilles, yeah, we are trying for additional sites, same as most regions. Currently only have one in Albany but have feelers out for others. Keep a few fingers crossed for us. I currently autocross a very green VW in EP so say hi if you make any of the events this year.
