Is there a silencer that will fit an Apexi WS
I recently bought an Apexi WS muffler for my 95 prelude. I bought it because it claimed to have all the performance without the loud noise. Long story short, the performance is good, but it doesnt seem any quieter than the next loud muffler. I'm 25 and married and live in a neighborhood with a lot of kids. I hate how people grab their kid's arms thinking I'm a wreckless 16 year old that's gonna run them over as I drive thru the neighborhood. I dont want to weld a stock muffler back onto such a great performing motor and exhaust but, I cant seem to find a silencer made for the WS. Does anyone know if there's one that will fit well enough to work. Its the WS, not the WS2. The tip seems to be about 95mm at the biggest point but it tapers down smaller towards the inner part. Any help would be great.

when i used a silencer tip, there was a VERY noticeable loss in high RPM power. Not to mention it made it sound like (quieter... but still...) a can of angry bees. (

Have you ever had anyone drive by you while you listen? My WS2 is quiet as hell, it actually seems louder inside the car than outside. When I let my friend drive it once it sounded quiet as he pulled away.
Did you buy the muffler seperate from the system? Thats what I did and I found out that the muffler on the ws system was a twin-loop kind of design inside the muffler opposed to the straight through that I have. Its loud as fVck, I was kinda dissapointed and am most likely going to get a twinloop.
I actually have a cherry bomb welded in line where the resonator comes in the factory setup. (it was like 10 times cheaper than an oem resonator) Yes the WS I bought was just the muffler not a catback and it is straight thru, but I dont understand why the one in the system would be different unless its the WS2 not the WS. I had thought about buying one of those electric valves off ebay and drilling holes like the inside of a catalytic converter and then putting it inline after the cat, but they cost like $150 and I wouldnt be able to get my money back if it didnt really work. It would be nice to have either quiet or full power at the flip of a switch. I just figured a silencer was the cheap way to go but I still dont wanna spend money on one unless I'm pretty sure it will fit enough to work.

I have to agree with the noise on the WS for Preludes. My buddy got a WS2 for his Spec V and I loved the look and quiet tone that it had so I bought one for my Prelude only to find that it was A LOT bigger than his and A LOT louder. I have since gotten used to it but I got threatened by the inspection guy that he almost failed me for noise but decided to be nice even though Apexi claims that its decibel levels are far below the legal limit. I let him drive it one day and as he pulled away I was amazed at how loud the car is while accelerating.
