Need suggetions on a B20 Build
Hey guys,
I notice a lot of you guys give some good suggestions and ideas in this area. I'm fairly new to fiddling with engine internals and specs/measurements of everything.
I might be picking up a Darton Sleeved 84mm block B18C1/5 and I'm looking at going 2.0L with it. Any suggested internals? I'm looking at running M22/4X/X cams and custom made SMSP headers. I reside in Sydney, Australia so some American parts will be harder for me to source out.
I'm looking for something around 200-210whp.
As for breathing mods i'll be running a Mugen Intake > Spoon TB > AIR Carbon IM. Head will be PnP'd... 3 angle valve job is yet to be decided on but will be running supertech flat faced valves. Car is currently managed by a powerfc.
As for pistons, rods, crank i'm still undecided whats best for a b20 setup. Also not sure about my fuel system... I currently have a Walbro 255hp fuel pump already installed. I'll be putting on a fuel reg system and changing the injectors as well. I've been suggest wiseco pistons and from reading some threads Arias pistons are quite favoured. Are the Carrillo rods lighter than the OEM rods cause I know a lot of the cheaper end aftermarket forged rods are heavier then OEM rods.
Would the DC2R ignition need to be upgraded to a MSD system or the oem setup is fine?
For the drive train I've decided to run the ORC 309D Single plate + lightened flywheel. LSD and FD is still undecided. I'll be running a Koyo full size radiator and a Trust oil cooler.
My DC2R is used as a weekend car and the occasional track day. The car will be tuned for response and reliability, not maximum output.
Cheers
Much appreciated!
