Where to start with GSR???
Ok, this is a pretty basic question, where do i start with my GSR that i am planning to get? I am going to use this car for a DD with maybe some drag and maybe the occasional road race. So what would be the best place to start?? I was thinking I/H/E then maybe headwork. What are your thoughts?
I would throw out any drag racing expectations. If its your only DD then I would keep the mods simple to keep the highest degree of reliability. I/H/E is a perfect place to start. From there you could do suspension, tires/rims, etc.

Depends on what your expectations for a "dragger" are. The answer is no...big cars with big rear tires seem to do better for the drag strip (ie, the reason I also own a SC300). Those silly little street tires on the front of the integra just dont do much for me. Sure if you strip it, throw on slicks sticking out about 4 inches, then you can get some decent traction....or I can go with some decent 295s on the backside of my 3500lb Lexus.
Personally, for your use, I would say go with an intake, single runner IM, ITR cams and a decent ECU tune. Header and loud exhaust if you like that sort of thing, however for a DD I would just rock out the stock or ITR exhaust.

I/H/E + Suspension parts will get you a lot of fun on road races. Actually, just leave it stock and work on the suspension with some decent tires.
For dragging, I don't think you'll be having any fun there.

I always had fun of going to the strip and racing all the guys with lightly modded civics/accords...and then making fun of them for getting beat by a stock integra. Ofcourse I'm in alabama and the drag strip is still filled with 16 second civics....that run right after those 7 second big blocks. Kinda funny as a matter of fact.

Lol, yea I guess it could be fun. Just for me, it got boring after a few runs. All I'd do is mess around with my launch.

Do any/all needed maintenance and then invest in some good tires and pads. Start auto-xing through the SCCA or other organizations. Not sure if there are any opportunities for road racing in your area?
You can even drag 'er bone stock w/ free mods. Take out the passenger seat and spare tire and deflate the front tires a few PSI.

How do you know he won't have fun? People have different preferences when it comes to "racing."
Let him be the judge and decide what he likes and what he doesn't like.

Sure does sound like a well-rounded car to me. I like your thinking.

There's nothing wrong with putting that out, haha.
Don't get me wrong, I think he'll have way more fun if he took his car out and goes road racing too. Hence, the stuff written below in my signature. He'll not only know how to actually drive his car, but also test it's limits as well.
