i have a 92 honda hatchback si the old si EG style with a b16 motor and im gonna install my new moroso oil pan. can someone please give me good steps on installing the oil pan detailed please. thanks for your help! very much appreciated.

 

i couldnt imagine very detailed descriptions.

raise car, drain oil, remove all the neccessary bolts (there's a lot), remove oil pan. installation is the same as reverse just make sure the gasket is lined up right. ive heard of people using atv sealant or "hondabond" and applying it directly to the bottom of the block. is that detailed??

drain oil, unbolt all the bolts. give the pan a little tug and it will come off.

put new gasket on the new pan, line it up and put the bolts in. you can put some silicone gasket maker on top of the regular gasket for extra safety..

i just changed my oil pan and my headers were going under the old pan so i had to take it off so i can slip the oil pan out then put the new one on and now im stuck on putting the headers back on

 

and make sure you dont torque to tight. oil pans dont get torqued that tight. i think its only like 8 ft lbs or so and you have to cris cross the tightening sequence. hope i helped u some

 

make sure that all of the old gasket is off of the block. Also, you shouldn't need any silicon, but if you want to you can, just don't put too much on.

oil pan bolts have a certain torque also. i think it is like 8.7 foot lbs. it may not even be that much. but i have seen were people think they arent tight enough and tighten them down and then while they are driving the gasket rips or it bends the oil pan lip. all bolts on a engine have special torque specs includeing a oil pan. i take it u have never worked on a engine. u need a torque wrench. u dont just unbolt and rebolt. they have specs and sequences to be torqued
