Default weird noise from engine after timing adjusted

i have a weird noise in my engine bay---when i turn on the engine....gives a very bad idle---the guy says its the speed control sensor...where teh idle jumps up and down---and then seems to come to almost stalling.

when i rev the engine---there's a squealling sound--like a turbo or supercharger spooling.....i have no power watsoever...comes and goes....

i need help asap....anyone have any clues---please help out..

Who adjusted the timing belts and why? I would just take it back to them and tell them they did something wrong with your car.

I wouldn't think a speed control sensor would give you a bad idle if your just sitting there (I'm sure I could be wrong though).

Hows the tension on the belt? Maybe who over did the tensioner (manual) I would think, maybe screwed up?

You should pull your timing belt cover or atleast your valve cover to try to see what things look like. If you pull the valve cover you could see your timing belt either way, and if somethings not right your belt will show it. Your belt could have slipped off. Thats probably my guess given the situation.

here's what happen....

bought engine from jdmtigerjapanese.com....came w/ missing vtec pressure switch, broken valve cover, bad customer service---(the worst possible one could imagine) engine went to wrong place was told to go pick it up or else will take longer to ship, order engine harness but never came w/ it, was charged for it, ask for full refund and they say restocking fees,

Timing Belt:
drove--nxt morning wasn't able to start the car, it turns but won't start....check plugs, fuel injectors, sparks and fuel, timing was off by 3 teeth on the intake side,

mechanic took it off, reset it....said tensioner should be replace, so i said go ahead order it in and replace it..he says takes 3 days so too long for him, he puts it back on, tensioner mite not have been working now----slaps it back on....starts engine..works...now gives reallie bad idle...rpm jumps up and down on cold start..nver done that b4......now he says he will charge another fee for working on it 2nd time....

timing was on too tight....squeeling and rattling noise coming engine..timing belt cover actually....read the manual..i think i can do it..but will take time......

Honestly it sounds like you need to take it to a different compotent mechanic. With al that stuff you just listed there may be a bunch of work that needs to be done on your engine...

The fluctuating idle could be many things, but it should be a rather easy fix (check the FAQs). The timing belt issues need to be fixed for sure before you run the engine anymore, it is an interference engine and the first time you started it when it was off 3 teeth you could have bent some valves.

You could also order a Helms manual from helminc.com and try to do it yourself if you like.

----UPDATES------

Timing was loose----the [freak]en mechanic who did mine--was a lazy *** bum---he knew the auto tensioner was junk---but he put it back aniwaise....said he didn't have time to wait for new one....so now my TIMING ISSUE---timing belt is loose as hell----its hitting against the middle and bottom timing cover.....

i took to a shop...and one of the mechanic there said he can't do the timing due to CEL---i took him that CEL on obd1 imports don't apply to timing.....the SRS light is also on..but that has nothing to do w/ timing----and he said he can't do it...so i said fawk it...aniwaise....

that's the problem w/ mine....eknorcal....

You can't do ignition timing without jumping the diagnostic plug....maybe that's what he meant?

What is 'aniwaise'?

Too many incompetent "mechanics" with a certification of stupidity.

the things these 'certified' scammers come up with is truly amazing.. I think a lot of the problem, too, is that they get paid on commission.. they don't like to admit the fact the most common problems with honda's are typically quick easy fixes.. they think if it ain't chevy, it's an all day project, and they will make it an all day project, with that mindset.
