I purchased a third brake light on here for my 00 Hatch that came with just holes. I also bought a third brake light. The thing is the brake light only came with the unit. Soooo I bought the unit and hit up acura for the exterior bolts. It seems like there would be some sort of gromet that goes into the glass so the bolt doesnt move around. Also the nuts dont tighten all the way up so there is a bit of space.

Am I missing something here? My hatch just has two cut out wholes with no rubber like say the wiper would have. Does it need something like this?

 

I would assume that you need to place sealant on the bolts. Otherwise they could leak.

youre right, there is a gromet on each side. i can get you a pic if you need it.

That should come with the bolts then. The parts diagram doesn't list a seperate grommet.

 

yeah the acura guy didnt see anything like this either.

mine doesnt even have holes for where the 3rd brake light is suppose to be =\ im getting a type-r spoiler soon so i will have no 3rd brake light unless i take off my current one and tape it to the roof? any ideas for me? how would i tape or mount the brake light from my current spoiler inside the car so i can have my type-r spoiler up

 

Just get an LED light bar and mount it high inside of the hatch. Pictures here.
