can i use a 12volt switch for a fuel kill??
yeah i read alot of it on the other threads... they keep saying use a switch that can handle a 20 amp and thats the minimum....i have no idea what that means.....but i bought a 12v switch from autozone...
I just wanna know if i could use the 12v switch from autozone for my fuel kill switch....!! please help before i start spicling up wires and nothing works!!!!!!!!! any help is appreciated

find the wires going to the tank, cut the wire for the fuel pump + . run a new wire from the cut wires to the switch, mount switch.
i know how to wire the switch...MY QUES. IS CAN I USE THE 12 VOLT SWITCH OR NOT?????? WILL IT BLOW A FUSE OR NO....
you need to find out how many amps the switch can handle. if it isnt rated high enough you will need a relay othewise your switch will burn out. also if you place the switch far away this will also require a relay.
and heres a great link with all you need http://causeforalarm.thecarthi....html

alright guys I'd like to bump this. I want to also know if my 12V (16 AMP) rocker switch can handle the current or will it just blow/ blow the fuse.
TIA!

get a multimeter from advance, then see how many amps you pull on average, times that by 2, and thats a safe amperage for a switch. or do the same, but use a relay. advance sells a 30amp generic relay for ~$4.50
Using too low of an amperage switch wont make you blow fuses, it will make you blow the switch. You should make sure that the switch is at least as strong (Amperage wise) as the fuse for the circuit you are putting it on. I also think it would be smarter to put a switch on the Green/Black wire that goes to the Main relay from the ECU. That wire controls the fuel pump relay on a low amperage scale, and can be used with virtually any switch as it is only about a .1 amp draw. There are actually 2 wires coming out of the ECU on pins A12 and A14 that join together in the harness (On the D16 anyway, but probably the same on a D15).
