Default gauge cluster swap help!!

I am swaping my 91 civic cluster with a 93 da cluster because it has a tach. I cannot plug the vss back into the cluster. It doesn't go in all the way, the speedometer goes all over the place, and I am getting code 17.
Why is it so hard to plug in, and why does it not click in all the way?

That's what I thought too, but I wasn't clicking in place. I tried pushing it in as hard as I could and ended up cracking the dam thing . Does any body have a da, ls cluster for sale.

Yea, its a tight fit. You have to shave some off the side of the cluster and remove the old mounting brackets to get it wedged in.
Were you able to connect the vss cable?
I found a 90-91 crx cluster with a tach.
Could any body help me find a how to on this install?
Also, I noticed the vss cable at the tranny came out a bit. Is it soppoused to be loose like that. I pushed it back in but still would come up if I pulled on it. Did I break it?
