Default Think this is worth keeping/fixing??

I bought the car like this and so far it runs good, and gets me anywhere i want to go with no problems. Its a 94 GSR with close to 160,000kms. Has a few mods here and there, and some small problems that can be taken care of easily. Only thing is that the paint is bad and needs some new wheels. I kind of have another car available to drive in the summer, but for so long one of my dream cars were to have a JDM DC2.

Think fixing the paint and saving for wheels is worth it? Or should i go the route of selling it. Lol, im only 16 and dont make that much money so it would take me until May/June to fully accomplish everything i want to do including the paint. Opinions would help before i decide to sell, or keep this car.

Heres some more pics of the Body. You can see how bad the orange peel actually is haha. Im going to try and do the 50$ paint job on the hood for now so it has a bit of shine, and also touch up some of the chips on the bumper and lip for now.

Anyone here ever try Tremclad/Mineral Spirts with a ratio of 50/50?

i vote keep it till you can afford to paint it, and fix it up.

or you could always buy a compressor, gun and some paint and paint it yourself, probably wont come out worse, just remember 90% is the prep work.

oh i just noticed you had a 5 lug too, keep it!! lol find some itr wheels and wing.

pretty sure theres no frame damage, but i think there is some filler/bondo material that was used to the spoiler holes. Other then that, rust spots were fixed with fiberglass and there seems to be minimal rust.

I got it for 5000 exact. Keep in mind that the prices here in Calgary, AB, Canada are waay higher than what it would be there in the states. With our dollar on par with the US dollar i shouldve just gone down to the states and bought one there.

Here where im from Integras usually go for around 6-8 for an RS. I assumed 5k for this gsr with the jdm front was not that bad i guess.

I had to save up again and then sent it to Manteca, Ca to get it repainted by ImportWerks and now it looks great! If I didn't make the mistake of paying aandrewcc first I would have enough money for my suspension now.

keep it and paint it.. dont cheap out.. save up and get stuff done right regardless of how long it takes. because as long as you don't half-*** anything you'll be fine and more then likely be extremely happy with the way it comes out.

with that said.. that paint is terrible.

From what i can see...its 5 lug in front and 4x100 in the back?

regardless..keep it. It will turn out to be a nice car if you put some work into it.

if i was 16 and had a black car. high gloss krylon would be my friend, keep it and drive it mostly at night if i were you. save up and paint it. that paint looks very thick maybe borrow a friends buffer and wetsand like crazy. see how it turns out... like another poster said about painting it yourself, it wont turn out WORSE. car looks good man congrats on the buy.

if the inside is in pretty good shape and everything works well you will get your money's worth and happiness out of it if you keep it. and that looks like a crappy 1 stage job...id spray 3 stage for you for 1000 dollars out the door with minimal wetsanding on your part to make it look like factory...

Ooooh. Look at the first picture. The reflection makes it look like a 5 lug. Whoops.
