Aftermarket 6th gen trannys?
hey if you do find out let me know too man...all i know is honda got reman transmission with a warranty for like 1000$ but then labors going to cost like a good 1000$ too
For automatics, Dr.Evil Transmissions is your only option that I am aware of. That being said, I've only heard of these being built for V6 accords, not I4s. Furthermore, these are performance transmissions, and will cost you about 3-4 thousand, including a core. Not really worth it unless you're spending much much more on building the motor IMO.

Not sure on that. You're speaking of the F20B? I didn't know they had an F20 for the 5th gen unless it's a EURO model. Most of the F/H series trannies are swappable, but there are a couple exceptions. Namely the F20C. I'll find out for sure this afternoon.

sorry, i guess i meant F22
, the 5th gen accord AT is swappable, so if theres a 5th gen performance/aftermarket AT, then it should be swappable as well...

Awesome. So the 5th gen accord tranny is swapable on my 6th gen. I guess I'll be on the lookout pretty soon.
Anyone think I'd be losing power while running an H22 tranny?

if you REALLY REALLY wanted to you could swap in he prelude tranny with the ricershift ability
probably more touble than its worth since i dont think that the ricershift computer is self contained in the tranny or whatever

90-93 Accords, 94-97 Accords, 98-02 Accords, 92-96 Prelude S, transmissions will all work, as it's virtually the same block, and similar if not identical gearing.
I would strongly advise against 97-01 Prelude trannys and 92-96 Prelude Si and Prelude VTEC models. If it were a manual you were looking for, I would encourage these, for shorter, better gearing, but since the automatics have the TCM that chooses when to shift, it might not do so well with the F23 which doesn't rev as high.

yup the F23 just kinda grunts and goes lol
low-end "torque" ftw

You certainly won't LOSE power with an H22/H23 tranny, but when you go full throttle, the H-series TCM (Transmission Control Module) might wait till ~7100ish to shift, while your F-series ECU will be bouncing off the rev-limiter at ~6700ish. You do the math.

That might not be great with it redlining at 6200.
Im in a pickle. Would it hurt it much? & where can i get an H22 tranny? How much am I looking at?

Most any F tranny from 90-02 Accord is going to be cheaper, and better suit the car. I'd do two searches. One for a 98 accord 2.3L, and one for a 94 accord 2.2L. That should cover all the F22/F23 trannys that will work.
I'm not sure your TCM will work with an H22 tranny. You might have to track down one of those if you go that route, which is just more money and more work, and back to the problem that I mentioned in the last post.

Absolutely not. V6 transmissions and 4cyl transmissions are not swappable. Your options are 98-02 Accord V6 trannys, and Acura CL 3.0 transmissions, and I believe some TL 3.2 transmissions. Basically most any transmission from a J-series (Honda/Acura V6 98+) motor.

But many of the J-series Acura trannies are 5-speed automatics. The 6th gen Accord V6 trannies are 4-speed autos. I think you'd have a problem with the 4th gear of the Acura trannies not being long for cruising or simply not working with the ECU.

I'm no expert with automatic transmissions, but I understood that autos were controlled by a seperate TCM. If this were true, I'm sure you could use the TCM that matches the donated transmission.
On the other hand, my TCM theory could be from 97 and older models, if current models integrate transmission control into the ECU.
