ok i have a jdm h22a in my 98 ek, a p13 ecu, odb2 to obd1 conversion, well while i was replacing my o2 sensor i noticed my knock sensor plug was out. so i went to put it back in and i noticed that part of the sensor was stuck on the plug(broken knock sensor ) well my question is my knock sensor is broken and is not currently connected to the block. but i get no knock sensor code on the CEL. any info is greatly appreciated. just want to know if since its out and clearly not hooked up, but i get no code, do i need to replace it?

 

No need for knock sensor signal for OBD1 only OBD2

 

so is that why no CEL code pops up. im hoping since i dont need it it wont be retarding my timing or anything. right?
