I'm about to get some type r floor mats for a great deal
but there not the checkered ones they are these
are they still oem and why are thy different than the checkered ones as in why did acura make 2 sets?

 

The thicker, checkered ITR floor mats were optional with the '97-98. The thinner, solid-black ITR floor mats were standard equipment with the '01. I'm not sure which was done in '00. Either will fit any year of USIM ITR. HTH.

 

Those are the 01 floor mats and you can still get them from the dealer for less then $100.

There are no dark gray ITR floor mats. The 97-98 are checkered and the 01 are black.

I figured since len is selling the checkered for under $100 the 01's should be about the same. I however have a friend that works at Acura so I get them for cost plus 10%.

I'm sure he's talking about the stock '01 ones. There were only two versions sold in the States, the thick checkered ones and the darker ones (you can call them dark gray instead of black if you like). If the part number on the box is 83600-ST7-A00ZA or 83600-ST7-A50ZA, they're the stock '01 ones.

 

2000 are checkered as well

I own those mats too and the 01 still look black to me.

 

The true black mats are UKDM aren't they?

The mats in the picture are UKDM but you can get the EUDM mats which are made for LHD cars.

I just compared my EUDM mats to my 01 mats and maybe you are right. They are either dark gray or mine are just faded.

00 got the checkerboards as standard equipment.

The EDM mats are LHD, ask me how I know . Here is the part number, straight from sticker in my hand: 08P15 - ST7 - 610

 

alright guys i just got back from picking these up and there th black 01 floormats and i love them.

I really want some new checkered ones tho
would anyone be intrested in trading new or 100% mint checkered ones for these?

Yes, the first pic above is my picture of my UKDM mats for my RHD. However, the EDM ITR mats are the exactly the same but for LHD.

Len is selling them for $86 + shipping, you should just order a set from him. I got mine yesterday. In my room they'll sit until the ones in my car get too bad.
