Default put DSPECS on S Techs or....

as some of you know, the rear of our cars sag with s-techs installed. well, im rolling on s-techs with stock struts. will installing Dspecs fix the sag in the back, or is that permanent no matter what I do just because thats how the s-techs were built? also, would it just be better to get basics? thanks in advance.

i like coilovers so i would tell you get basics. plus their overhaulable so it will cost less to repair them than buy brand new ones.

That's just how they are, most EM2 springs make the rear sag. I used to have Goldline RSX spring, and the rear didn't sag much. I still have them, but I use ground controls now.

Using the term "sag" makes it sound like something has gone wrong, something springs are not supposed to do. For instance your rear would "sag" if you had subwoofers, a full tank of gas and four adults in the car. Not normal.

However, if you look up the specs on the S-Tech springs you will notice that the rear springs were designed to be a few inches lower than the front springs.

As for why, you're gonna have to call TEIN and ask cuz I have no clue.

A note on the D-Specs... they aren't going adjust the ride height, only the ride stiffness.

Unfortunately, the design of the springs is what's causing the lower rear.

PS: buy my D-Specs!

hmm... your probably the first person ive encountered with no "sag" rolling on s-techs. well, im in a coupe. with a single 12 box in the trunk. but that wouldnt cause it that drastically. ill try to get pictures. but just by looking at it you can tell my rear is lower than the front. and yea, the specs on the tein site show that the rears were made to go lower that the front. i think it was about a quarter inch lower. dont remember. but its around there. so the dspecs wont help illeviate(SP) the sag? well then, i guess im either going basics or SS. no pillowball since i already have spc f/r.

thanks for everyones help.

This may help... http://www.tein.com/tech_info/a22.html

S-Tech is meant to be a subtle drop, not very sporty. Given that they are for a luxury look, the springs may have more "give" than a higher spring rated for sport driving.

OP: Do you autocross your car? If you find yourself riding out every turn on the streets, coilovers might be for you. On the other hand, many people who actually get a true coilover setup (TEIN SS, etc) do NOT utilize the setup to it's full potential, because they don't track their car or whatever.

I've saved a lot of money on all my cars by putting together a nice shock and spring combo. Springs can be found used for well under $100, they can't blow out or leak like shocks do. Then you would only have to invest in some nice adjustable shocks, and you just spent $500 shipped as opposed to $800-$1500 for a true coilover setup in new condition.

IMO: Very similar results + less money = Baller setup with money left over for other moddage.

i think ur confusing the s tech with the h tech...

the h tech is the more 'luxury' spring for a comfortable ride...

s tech isnt so luxurious, subtle yes but still aggressive/sporty

To the OP: I have s-tech on stock shocks and have no sag, and the rear of mine is 3 finger widths and the fronts are 2

pic for reference

yea. mines dont look like that. ghey. i wished they looked like that. all even. or even at a glance at least. mine at a glance seems as if i dont know how to use coilovers when im actually on s-techs. man.... that makes me a sad panda.

and im guessing your s-techs are the same as mine whether they are put on an 01-03 or an 04-05. man, that sucks. for me at least...
and thats surprising that you have a two finger gap in the front and three in the back. man...................
