is this the same dude that made this as a stress bar for a hatchback?

i thought we ALL told you it was a bad, dangerous idea, and to throw that thing in the trash?

CBURKE I have followed and helped you with welding, and if this is any kind of structural device/product I would really think twice about selling these to anyone besides yourself.

are you talking about the flange? or the actual bar??????

or do you want use to glob the expletive out of the filler metal, run multiple random passes over a plate for you? becuase whoever performed those welds and sold you that product needs to reevaluate his carerr choice until he gets better at the welding part of it

i would DEMAND your money back if i were you...............

if you made that yourself and are learning (no offense if you got any from the previous bit) i think you still need to wait and keep working on your welding before you start selling

Well I did make that and I am still practiceing, but I didn't think it was that bad............

This bar is no diff then the Benen bar and they sell theres so what's the prob?

The bar is very strong and I will have then stress tested before I would start doing this for sale.

Just keep practicing man. There is plenty of helpful information and pictures on this forum. No need to sell a bad product as soon as you can and make a bad name for yourself right off the bat. Just read read read and practice practice practice. There will always be some easy to make product that is way over priced to sell when your welds are better.

I am trying to understand bad welds? This is a MIG not a Tig, so if it's looks then I can't really help that. The welds them self are strong and I am getting full penetration.

Help me out here...............

I think the problem is that "they" think it doesnt look as good as they've seen. "these people" have high standards nowadays, and are willing to pay to meet them.
Everyone damn well knows that those welds arent going anywhere. I think they look like a pretty good mig. It not like they are going to crack and fall off. Come on guys.
It doenst help that those flanges you handcrafted look like doodoo but, ill see if i can help you out with that.
I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Later.

very good advice. the problem with these bars is that lets say you sold that piece in the pic.......... the customer knows nothing about welds....... but they want it "clean" becuase that bar will always be visable 100% of the time.....

so pretty much just keep working on it......... then start selling them.....

don't forget alot of the people you are asking for help from do the EXACT same thing you want to do for money so there may be diffrent motives behind some of the trash talk

That is what I was thinking. I am going to keep trying to get better. I am not doing this for a living or anything, I just like making things.

I did notice once you paint them you really can't see the welds.

Make the hole bigger then the tube so the tube slides into the flange then weld it. Its a harness bar yes?
