Default 1988 Honda Civic Hatch DX Auto 1.5L Dual Point

Im getting a code 8 from my ecu. check engine light is on, when i start up my car and give it gas it chokes up and dies out.

I just changed my thortle body and dizzy and still have the same problems checked all my vac hoses nothing out of place checked fuel presure and it's fine.

After changing them car starts up stays on for no more then a min and just dies on its own and my check engine light is still on and flashing me code 8.

I can keep the car on if i tap on the throttle cable gently but if i punch it it chokes and also when im gently pressin on the cable it kinda boggs out and back fires adjust the dizzy as well.

Only thing out of everything I have not checked is the Timing Belt.

hmm also im leaking oil from my oil pan but check dip stick and shows it's levels good but when low I put some oil.

Can anyone help me out here ?

I've been trying to get this car to work for 3 weeks ...

Code 8 = TDC - top dead centre sensor, which is in the distributor. Either the sensor in the distributor, the wiring, or the ECU is bad.

i'd just check your wiring. if the wiring is good, its most likely your dizzy.

your best bet for buying a harness would be a junkyard

I believe my wire harness is crap there are wires cut everywhere dangling in the air. Wire harness at a junkyard go for about 40 $ ??

Well thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna take a look at my Wires again and see if i can do anything to help fix all the loose wires everywhere. or if not forget about the hassle just go buy another one ...

oh yeah also lol on my harness on the intake manifold from the map sensor they spliced the wire to try and create a ground and then groundned to the intake manifold bolt.
