Oil Pressure lights up sporadically, usually at idle
recently, the oil pressure light my 94 civic ex has been coming on once in a while for a second or 2, but will go a way when I hit the gas, anyone have any ideas, or know where the connector for that sensor is?
Check your oil bro you might be low, next is your VTEC if it is your Vtec solnoid might be cloged take it off and clean it...If you have a check engine light as well read the code.
Actually, the oil pressure warning light thing doesn't come on until your oil pressure gets down to some ridiculously low level. Wayyyy lower than where VTEC quits working.
If it's coming on every now and then I'd say run some engine flush stuff through your engine before your next oil change. You may have crap sucked up on your oil pickup screen and it's starving your oil pump for oil.
That flush stuff might break that gunk loose and hold you over for a while.
If that doesn't work, pull your oil pan off and check the pickup.
Also, do you change your filter every time you change your oil. I've heard of some people only changing oil and leaving the old filter in for a few changes. Why would they do that? I have no friggen clue.

Oil pressure light comes on at 5psi, I had the same flickering symptoms going on in the days prior to my engine spinning a bearing, hopefully it works out better for you. Take this seriously though, get it looked at, don't just keep driving like that or the bill gets bigger fast.
well the oil level is right inbetween half and full, about 2k on the oil in there now. I am unfamilliar with checking the codes on my honda, but have done it many times on my nissan. I seen a blue connector under the passenger side dash, do I have to bridge that connection to check the codes? or a link?
I can 90% guarantee you that it won't be electrical in nature. It's going to be some kind of mechanical problem.
But just to be certain, check the oil pressure sensor's wire. It's on the back of the block, above the oil filter. You'll see a small sensor plugged into the back of the block with a single wire coming off it. The wire has a little rubber boot around it protecting the actual connection. Peel back that boot and make sure that you have a good, non-corroded connection in there.
