HELP! What do I do... Cylinder Misfire 1, 2 & 4
My Engine light has been on for a while, but I've been ignoring it
. I just check it tonight using the paper clip method and my ECU read trouble codes 71, 72 and 74. I looked it up and it is cylinder misfires. . What do I do?!? My car sounds like it has a cold. It coughs sometimes.
I have NGK iridium spark plugs and wires. I didn't gap the plugs b/c the instructions said not to. What could be the problem? Some good technical advice would be greatly appreciated.

...pull the plugs to check if their white. see anything up with them? second off, take a voltmeter and check your plug wires.
ignoring serious engine problems = bad.
if the suggestion above doesnt work, goto acura.

I ve been having the same problem for awhile also. Car sputtering, engine has a shake to it and constant low idling right?
My R is actually at Acura as we speak, for the 5th time this year, cause of the same CEL codes.
These idiots can't figure it out still. I have changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, did a valve adjustment, and numerous resets but no luck.
Now they tell me that it "could" be a bent valve ''or" cylinder.
They'll find out Monday, I guess, when they take off the head to inspect it.
Good luck with yours.

mine has the same issues, but i have a nissan. either way, an engine is an engine to some degree. i was told i need a new cap rotor and wires. also, it could be an EGR valve issue.
My car ran bad for a while. Misfire on number one or random misfire. Bad distributor coils. Runs like a champ again.

I have stock interanals, but I'm thinking it might be my distributer cap and rotor. I had a tough time pulling that sucker out when I was replacing it. The philips screw head (holding the rotor in place) that is facing the firewall was facing Up. So I yanked the old rotor off inorder to replace it. Maybe beacuse of my poor instlation
But why was the screw that holds the rotor in place facing up? I couldn't unscrew it light the Hanyes Manual said to do.
