Default lowered my civic ex 1.5, now hits everywhere?

i bought 1.5 inch lowering springs, put them in and now it seems like i lowered it 2 inches. the bottom of my car hits everywhere and its getting annoying already. i was wondering if they make 1 inch i could switch to and if it will still look good? need some help on this one guys. its a 97 ex coupe, and 1.5 feels way to low??

Are you going into places slower and at a angle, because 1.5" really isnt too low. I dont even think i know of any springs that offer less than 1.5" maybe 1" but that would be it. Could just invest in some coil overs.

yes i have the stock struts becasue 1.5 inces didnt think would really make a difference. i think just the bottom of my car hits, and sometimes the sideskirts. i had a integra with a body kit that was low and i know how to drive and go over things at angles. but it was never like this. i dont get it. 1.5 isnt that far drop. and i dont want to have to change them all again

maybe your stock shocks and struts are shot and cant handle the drop at all.

you must have some f'd up streets where you live
1.5 isn't that much of a drop
But hey thats what happens if you have a lowered car. gotta deal with it
And if you dont want those anymore just sell them and buy coil overs,
and set to your desired height

yeah, show us a pic
how much gap do you have from your fender-wheel.

1.5 isn't much of a drop at all, unless you have 1.5 inch drop with miss-sized tires...like people with 40 series tires on 16's

that really weird. i had a 90 hatch that was slam! and i never had any problems but i also had skunk 2 full coilover kit. stock shocks cant handle any kind of drop, they start to get real bounce. so you might want to replace them or get coilovers

Can you please get some pics of this? 1.5" drop should still have at least a finger gap.

1.) the bottom of the car doesn't hit the ground unless something is VERY, VERY wrong. Your core support might tag an incline or your fenders might smack your tires, but the physical body of your shocks will keep the car's floor pan from hitting the ground.

2.) did you install the suspension? Are you sure you did everything right?

3.) would you know the difference between bottoming the shocks out because they're blown and having something installed improperly?

You need to take some pictures for us so we can help you a bit more.

no, the front tires are tucked up in. thats why i was so mad, because 1.5 i thought would have a half in gap. its on the steelies right now for winter. but just not happy with it. might try better springs. i will get pics soon for you guys

you have a body kit, maybe thats why. 1.5 drop is nothing really. It should be ok, unless you have a big kit.

it sounds like you struts are blown, theres no reason you should be hitting the ground "with a drop like that. i have a lower drop than that and ran the 14" steelies with 60 series tires no problem. no tire rub, no bottoming out. and oem struts dont blow because you change the hight of the car, maybe some crappy kyb's but ive ran my original struts for three years with my springs. and what kind of springs are they? and are the springs or coil overs?

make sure the longer spring are in the front and the shorter springs are in the rear. I had this issue my self with brand new kyb shock and cheap springs. and it was really tucked. my buddy noticed that it was way to slammed for an 1. 5 drop.
we inspected and notciced springs in front too short. swapped them around. all ok .
