I got a 2000 civic dx 5-speed standard, still stock
recently whenever i start my car, i get a small grinding noise when i crank the ignition.
it sounds just like it would if you were to keep the key turn after you start the car.
Before i yank my starter out, just want to know if there is anything else i should look at?

 

3 bolts to loose to take out starter, and u can hot wire it and see and hear if it clicks and turns. if not. u need a new one.
