what is the best intake system for 95 ex?

 

DC Sports DAC for non cold air, AEM for cold air. It is a matter of preference.

 

I have heard from some peeps that on the 5th gen accords a CAI is a waste of monery over a short ram. They say this cause the short ram draws air from right above the opening to the fender and is protected from engine heat by the battery.

What is peoples thoughts on this?

 

I wished I had at least tried the 2.75" diameter injen CAI before buying the 2.5" AEM one. It *feels* restricted when pushing it to the redline... I wonder how larger piping would work on the car.

I havent tried 2.75" or 3" piping on the stock accord motor, so I can't say much about whats "best" yet.

 

you can't go wrong with an aem one....and btw...aem has spent so much time on a dyno with each application...trust me...if they put out an intake with a 2.5" diameter tube then that's your best bet for performance....

 

Yeah, the battery will act as a heat shield to some degree, but the air will still be hotter than the air drawn in through a CAI or the stock box with the resonator removed.

 

yes...the battery does act as a heatshield to some extent...but it isn't nearly as cool of air as full blown CAI....

 

idunno if i'd give AEM the benefit of the doubt on actually testing all the possibilities. I've also heard Injen was started by an employee of AEM that left to start his own thing?? anyone confirm?

Either way, a number H22A1/H22A guys opt for getting 3" intake piping vs the 2.75" that the AEM has for the 4th gen lude. They claim it breathes better w/ the larger piping. My guess is AEM is a bit conservative in their piping, but thats just my guess.
