where is the crank sensor in a 98 honda accord 3.0
hey guys my car isnt starting, had it towed and got a diagnostic done...garage was a rip off so me and a buddy are trying to do this...needed plugs and wires so we got em now the cars got a spark...fuses seem to be ok...fuel pump is ok...it must be the crank position sensor...but we dont know where it is, any helpers? thank you for your time fellas
the pulse counter is located behind the crank pulley; you should find the plug going to it on the lower timing cover in the front, sorta down behind the A/C compressor
What leads you to believe the crank angle sensor is the problem?

i think it has to do with the car won't start
but if you got fuel and spark and the car cranks
is there a CEL? usually if a sensor fails it will toss a cel and you need to get the code. it's fairly easy with a 98 V6 car as you can do it with a paper clip and counting the # of long and then short flashes
how you can get the codes yourself on a 6th gen car (I4 and V6)
1. Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) under the instrument panel on the driver's side (left side)
2. Jump #8 and #13 by connecting them with a paperclip (easiest)

DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC)
3. Turn the key to the "ON" position (do not start) and observe the "CHECK ENGINE" light. It will flash the trouble codes. For example: 2
long flashes, pause and then 3 short flashes results in code 23
.
One short flash = 1. One long flash = 10.
The ligt will not flash if there is no trouble codes.
