Default rebuilding a type r

Is it worth rebuilding a type r motor to stock...i mean the motor is blown..has a bent valve, and whole in piston thats all i know for know...so i was wondering if is actually worth rebuilding it or picking up another ITR or gsr or b20V....and how much would it cost me to do all this...i just want to build it back to stock...so it will run and is use for daily driving/autocross...motor is goin into a civic hatch...so what do you guys think???..thanks..my buget it about 2-2500..

if this were the OEM engine for an R, people may lean towards rebuilding it. with the engine going into a civic hatch, people may lean towards swapping engines and starting over. personally, with that 2-2.5k budget, you could go either way... sell the engine to someone who will rebuild it to their specs and with your existing budget, you could easily buy another engine... ITR/GSR/b20/whatever.

... you may want to be a liiiittle bit more specific with what's going on with the head/block so we could assess what parts need to be changed. i'm rebuilding my daily gsr with upgraded cams/pistons/valvetrain (and buying tuning equipment) and it's going to be about 1500 in parts. when i sell the old parts, i'll probably be looking at having spent about 1000. depending on what's wrong with your engine, you maaaay be able to get it done cheaper. GL.

pictures of what's going on would be nice to help assess the situation and figure out how much the engine's worth (head/valves/block/pistons/cylinders/sleeves/any holes in the block/etc) ^ no sense in making the same mistake as the OP and spelling "hole" wrong

Might be better then if you just didn't touch it and try to sell as is. GL with it.

perhaps buy some literature on B series building rebuilding.
and then after that decide if its for you.
its good to learn anyways, and it will help you decide if you want to keep the R or buy something already built. or build it yourself.

While you're at it, I know it's just a message forum, but try to write in complete sentences so others can help you. Try to ask questions that give you an answers, not questions that give you opinions.

I see what you're trying to do but it's like asking people whether or not I should wipe my *** with Charmin Ultra Strong or Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper. There are ways you should wipe your *** and there are ways you shouldn't. How about telling us how you're wiping your *** first and we'll tell you if you're doing it right or wrong.

PS. Was it necessary to make two entirely different threads about the same question?

BTW: make sure you wipe back to front.
