Default Garret T3 super 60

Has anyone heard anything about this turbo?? http://www.spoolinperformance....bbd44 Im in need of a t3 turbo for my bike right now, i have a t3/t4 on it right now with .50 .58 AR's but it spools VERY slow, doesnt start hitting boost til 7000... Im wanting a turbo to spool around 3000 but idk which one to get.. This super60 looks good ar whise but i have no clue what the trims mean! Whats the difference between the trim and AR's, Can someone help me so I can know what time you think this turbo will spool and if its a good turbo.. thanks

.50 is a common t04 compressor A/R, but .58 is one of the smallest t04 turbine housing A/R's. If you're spooling at 7k, sounds like you have a straight t04, or a very serious boost/exhaust leak. Measure your turbo's turbine inlet flange, and do a search on t4 flange sizes.

A b16 will make a bit over 300 whp with a super60 T3, and hit full boost around 3500 rpm.

thank you guys your helping out alot... but i made a mistake, my turbo is a .50 .65 ar turbo!! So you guys think this is a good turbo for a 2004 zx10r... cuz right now like i said my t3/t4 is making 265hp at 14psi but my quarter times are horrible because its taking forever for my turbo to kick in so thats why i want a smaller turbo.. which turbo would spool faster the super60 or this one https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2218016, its a garret t3 .48 .50 ar... and ya if i could get my bike to at least start boosting by 3500 id be happy... most motorcycle turbo kits come with t28's,, how close is that super60 spooling whise to a t28.. thanks alot

A t28 is technically a t25 turbine with a t3 compressor, meaning it will flow in between a normal t25 and t3. In general, they will make 225-275whp max vs 275-325 max on a T3. If you're making 265whp on a decent motor with that turbo, it probably is a T28.

You need to do some more research on turbos, since the a/r numbers you see on the outside of your turbo are good for nothing if you don't know the small and large sizes of both the turbine and compressor wheels (to within 1/32 of an INCH). Those measurements are the only way to ID the turbo.

It would have also helped if you'd mentioned the vehicle was a bike. Its a HONDA forum, after all.

what times are you running and what traps? what are you shifting at?
are you using an pnuematic shifter? is the bike stretched and slicked up?
how much do the rpms fall off between shifts?

i ran a t3 super 60 with the .48 a/r on my stock 1.5l, and had full spool( 16 psi) by 3500 rpm. it was a great litle turbo, but it didnt really pull up top, due to the .48 a/r

im running 6.20s in the 8th but my 60 ft is horrible of 1.80... im footshifting shifting about 14000 with the bike stretched 8 over and lowered... but i need you guys opinion, should i got with this turbo https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2218016, its a garret t3 .48 .50 ar's... or the super 60 from spoolin performance, but it would be used to... the only thing that im really caring about is spool time, i want the turbo that starts to spool the soonest because i need my 60ft down in the 1.50s!! thanks

I would go with it. I know you guys run lower pressuare due to the compression being so high. it should be quicker through the quarter. but it wont have nearly the same pull up top.

if youre revving that bike to 14K and hitting full boost at 7K i wouldnt change anything. just an FYI the smaller turbo is going to run out of steam in the hhigher RPM's so its a trade off, do you want to make more power down low and loose some up top? what RPM are you launching at?

ya i understand, i was launching at 10,000 so the turbo would already be spooled off the line but it was just too uncontrollable

do you have any sort of management that support antilag or ftl. then you can maybe launch at 7-8k?
