91 Si Tranny Has Shaftplay.
What title says i baught a 91 si tranny for 50$ from a guy and when i got it home i found out that the imput shaft has shaftplay, could this be because the input shaft bearing is bad??
It is actually normal for RWD transmissions to have some input shaft play. But NOT Honda transmissions. The input shaft bearing is probably fried.

anyone have a idea how much a imput shaft bearing costs? can i buy it from local auto parts store?? or dealer part only?
also tranny says pl3/9000 so im assuming its a si tranny correct?

if my memory serves me, i believe it's around $20. i'd just order it from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com that's where i got mine. i'd bet an autozone bearing will cost the same, either way you'll have to wait. You might as well get the one made my honda. You may need to replace other bearings.
there's a thread around here that helps you tell what year and model the transmission is. i was sold a 90 si transmission, what i got was an 88 si so i bought a new clutch & flywheel, not sure if the flywheel was nessesary but i bought it anyways.
