Default need exhaust help fellas...

i know there are many forums on this, but i can't get the right info...

so, my set up now is basically J's racing: Full Tsuchinoko intake , J's header, J's test pipe , so the last thing to do for now is exhaust. But i just cannot decide.
My criteria is (in order):
1. Twin exit (easthetics) non debatable.
2. Has to sound good - by this i mean, a bit louder than stock, but not too loud (particularly at normal revs). Has more 'rumble' to the sound. Loud at vtec is no problem. Basically deep loud, not raspy farty loud.
3. Not lose any power - preferrably gain some.

The top 2 criteria seem to be met by the HKS silent high power - sounds real good, looks pretty damn good, but all i hear is that it can lose power.

Does it always lose power - given the mods i have, could it gain more power??

I'm totally stumped on what to get - HKS seem the closest to what i want at the moment, but losing power is not a place i want to go...

I know a place that could build me one, but i wouldn't have the faintest idea what instructions to give them - mufflers, gauge, bends etc. etc.

Help!

Sounds like sex with Jessica Alba, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kristen Kreuk all at once, on a deserted island.

it makes a splashy sound?

mmm ok - could you describe the sound in terms of an exhaust?

why don't you just get some aftermarket mufflers and have the stock tips welded on?

Seems like all you want is a little bit extra sound.

A tad bit louder than the HKS, just as deep and soothing.

Check youtube for tone/pitch. Just imagine it louder, and that's how it will sound in real life.

i did think about that - still concerned even that may lose a bit of power. And may sound too drony - really wanted to hear peoples thoughts rather than try something out myself and find i don't like it. I was looking at buying a pair of buddy club III mufflers. The stock pipe is 60mm which seems reasonable for my mods.

i personally hate the look of 2 gigantic cans coming out of the back of an s2000.

The J's 70RR looks so nice with the turndown muffler.

GRAF - you got any further thoughts on the HKS - will it lose power given the other modes i've done? - i know it can lose a little on a stock S2000, but thought with the header/intake/test pipe, that it might be neutral or even gain.
Cheers.

I keep on recommending this new exhaust, but have only seen a dyno graph of it and a sound clip, however it looks promising enough for you to look into it.

- The new berk exhaust. Its a dual titanium exhaust, with dual 56mm piping. Claimed to have the free flowingness of an 80mm single. I don't know how true this is but it is showing power gains of 12whp on dyno with stock motor and test pipe, and IMO sounds pretty good.

$1200 for a ti exhaust - check it out

HKS sounds nice, I've had it since the day I bought my car and I'm glad I have it. Can't really tell any power difference at all so maybe gain maybe lose.

T1R 70mm sparrow. I promise you this is one of the best dual exhausts you can get for the money. If I had to get a dual, you can be sure, this would be on my car!

yup - i keep hearing positive things about this. Have you heard it? Could you describe the sound in terms of volume and pitch? you tube sound clips are indicative at best

Not really a baller, but i know J's are one of the best. Plus a friend of mine regularly goes over to Japan as he has dealings with a disabled mobility company over there, so he picks up the bits for me direct - huge savings on retail, even the cheapest sites dont come close.
I wonder if he could combine the wheelchair stuff with the Js racing stuff?
Cheers for all the feedback.
Also, i'm thinking of leaving it for a while - the stock exhaust is sounding pretty sweet with the test pipe and J's header and J's intake combo! seems to get a little louder and throatier every day. way louder than stock now.
