in general, would unplugging the box allow my truck to run as if there were no alarm?

I had a similar problem with my 791. The installer was stumped and all he did was unplug the antenna and plugged it back in and it worked. weird.

You do know your alarm has a valet/program button, also used to "disarm without remote" in case your remote does not work, turn ign. on, press and release the valet/program button, this will disarm most Viper alarms. 94

so i hook the car battery back up, the alarm starts wailing, i get in, turn the ign on, and press the second button?

that should turn it off?
