Default rebuild ITR or new motor

is it worth rebuilding a JDM 96 ITR spec...or should buying a new motor...or buy another JDM ITR motor...and sell the blown ITR...

Depends. Is it just a rebuild or blown motor? What are your plans for the motor?

You havn't told us what is wrong in the first place. Hard to answer a question when all the necessary info hasn't been revealed.

If you are simply throwing a new set of rings and bearings in an old motor, that shouldn't take more than a weekend if it is your first attempt, and will give you a good fresh start.

Sounds like a re-buildable one. Pull it apart and find out.

I would do whatevers cheaper. I would rebuild the motor myself. However I'm not sure of your mechanical skills so this may not be cheaper than buying whole new motor.

X2. Sounds like new valves, and new pistons... but if you're not mechanically inclined then

I would probably purchase a ITR long block and just use my transmission off the USDM blown motor you have and swap everything over to that. Most of those JDM motors are pretty healthy depending on where you purchase it from.
