Default Small Light Fuse - Lights Not Working FIX...

Hey people, i recently had my small light fuse (#42) blowing whenever i put the headlight switch on. This cause my tailights, and gauge lights to stop working I started diagnosing it and i found that the main lead power line (blk/red) runs from the passenger side kick panel at a 20 pin wire harness and a 7 pin harness. It runs from there to the rear of the vehicle. I noticed that the main lead had a splice in it and this caused dramatic results. from the passenger side to the rear majority of the wires were fried and joined together. I replaced all the burned wires and that was a definate fix to the problem. The wires run on the passenger side all the panels will have to be removed in order to get full access to them, also the rear seats and trunk panels.

This post is to let you guys know that this is where the wiring is located for the tailight circuit which also runs the guage lights and dome lights for the stereo. I noticed quite a few posts with the same problems, so this is a definate start to fixing the problem.. Good Luck

so a splice in to one of those lines burned them all?

i believe it was a splice in the main lead (Blk/red) that caused most of the wires to fuse together which caused a short.

haha i fixed this problem w/ a probe and multimeter + 4hours.. only to find that the previous owner had installed an illuminated shiftknob which caused the short
