My greddy evo 2 muffler got busted from a giant dip and i am thinking of putting another muffler on my greddy pipe. HKS or Apexi

do ALL 2.5in or 3" or w/e pipe size affect what the muffler sounds like? Example Greddy 2.5 pipe sound different w/ a hks muffler as compared to greddy 2.5 pipe w/ a APexi muffler.

will i still have a good exhaust tone even though the original muffler was changed?

 

if piping is the same diameter and made of the same material the only thing that should change sound is the muffler.

 

hks 2.5" pipe greddy 2.5" pipe and apexi 2.5" pipe. How do they all sound if they have a greddy evo 2 muffler? or do pipes not affect the sound so they all sound the same due to them having the same muffler

If they're all made of say.. stainless steel then they shouldnt sound much diff. w/the same muffler on. If say the Greddy piping is made of aluminum and the HKS stainless it might be a slight change in sound even w/the same muffler. Make sense to everyone or not lol

 

Both the resonator size and pipe diameter are critical for acoustic tuning a.k.a. sound. Yes, the pipes can affect the sound. Heck just the midpipe without the muffler on my Mugen twin-loop was quieter than most aftermarket exhausts.
