Default Accord mini me

Ok, before anything yes I searched. First let me say, I'm not a newbie(I made a new SN, long story), but I'm not too familiar with H and F series motors. I'm a B-series man(old sn was B-series Assassin).

Anyway, my friend has a 94 Accord Coupe LX, manual tranny . I have to say it's quick for an Accord, we can chirp third. He can beat other Accords and Civics, yesterday we hung with a GSR untill third gear.

Well he's saving up for an H22A swap in about a year, but in the mean time I'm convincing him to just get a VTEC head since he dont know how to save money. I'm familiar with the Z6/Y8 head on a DX block, but how difficult is it on an Accord? His car suffers in third gear, so I'm sure a VTEC head will help him a lot.

Please feel free to share any comments or suggestions, or people that did this swap give me some tips.
Thanks.

Really crappy tires? **** man, I don't know how a LX can chirp 2nd.

No, the F22B1 head cannot be swapped on to the F22B2 block without spending a lot of money on modifying the block.

I can chirp 2nd all day long, the only way I can see chirping 3rd is to powershift(keep your foot on the gas when the clutch is engaged to change the gear). Should I try in my g/f 6th gen?

Dont worry, I cant chirp either, but that is because my tires are too grippy (properly scrubbed in Kumhos).

VTEC would only be good for like 5 ponies anyway.

I cant chirp. I'm missing 5th gear.

I kid you guys not when I say this. I chirp 2nd almost everytime in my Civic Ex. Occassionally on a really good shift I have chirped third gear. I even had a video of doing it once. Too bad it is on VHS. In an Accord I would find it harder to believe though b/c of the weight differences. Still, if he claims it can be done I am not one to argue.

What's the big deal with chirping tires? Last time i checked the only thing it does for you, is get you a trip to the local mechanic faster. So you can put unneeded stress on your drivetrain...who cares.

Excellent point. There isn't a big deal at all really, unless you are trying ot impress people. If you are in a race then it is pointless b/c there goes time you just lost trying to grip!

You've got Kumhos right. That would be why.
