WTF Tranny dipstick is bent
My kid tells me last night her 94civic dx sedan would not go into reverse.
She hears a loud clunk and it goes in.
I take it out for a ride and it seems fine.
This AM when it's light out I go out to check the auto tranny fluid and the dipstick is bent!!!
Car drives fine but how could this happen? Is a new tranny in my future?
FWIW I had the tranny fluid changed about 4 months ago at my local mechanic.

It is possible that they sat the dipstick off somewhere and it somehow got bent. They probably noticed it and put it back in anyway. It could have hit some of the internals of the transmission causing the noise. I would make sure the dipstick is as straight as possible and see if this fixes the problem. Does there appear to be any damage to the dipstick itself, other than being bent?
Thanks for the fast reply.
The dipstick looks like it hit something and was twisted.

I just got a new dipstick and have it at the mechanic for a tranny fluid flush
Car is driving and shifting fine!

you dont flush honda auto transmissions, just drain and fill. its pretty amazing how the dipstick got to that point
