Is there an idle screw on a 2001 S2000 throttle body.
Hi everyone,
I am familiar with B-series throttle body and those have the idle screw on the top.
I have a 2001 S2000 now and when I turn the airconditioning on, the car idles really low, almost stalling. I was checking for the idle screw and there is a hole, but the screw is not there. Where can I raise my idle??

IIRC the idle is controlled purely by the ECU. If not, I'd like to raise my idle speed too. My idle also drops low with the A/C compressor running. I don't stall but I'd rather burn a little more fuel to get a smoother idle.
Don't believe everything you read. Do this after your car cools down. Resetting the ECU's idle doesn't work as well if you do it on a warm car.
1) Disconnect negative battery cable.
2) Unplug and unscrew MAP sensor, do not remove yet.
3) Tap the MAP sensor a few times with handle of screw driver. It's called the MAP WHACK, but you tap, not whack.
4) Remove MAP sensor
5) Blast the port of the MAP sensor with those air can things they sell for computers and such. I use an air blaster adapter connected to a compressor. Either one works.
6) Reinstall MAP sensor. Reconnect battery cable.
7) Start car. Hold engine at 3k RPMs until cooling fans come on.
8) Let car idle for an additional 5 minutes. Your idle is now reset.
If you guys are wondering why he has to do a MAP WHACK, it's because it's useless to reset your idle with primary sensors working half-assed.
