Default Racing Shoes

I'm looking into buying a pair of racing shoes. I've come across the ASICS at the 5Zigen booth at IAS in Long Beach couple months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get any brochure or literature on these shoes. So I'm wondering if anyone knows or have info on them. I'm looking for more options, besides Sparco, Momo, OMP, etc..... Thanks.

For what kind of competition? If it's for autocross and you don't need fire protection, a lot of people use Asics wrestling shoes. You can get them in most sporting goods stores for quite a bit less than Nomex driving shoes.

We use the No Fear shoes & gloves. They have the SFI rating & are priced competively with the other brands. Good fit & quality. http://www.nofear.com

How about these clown shoes?

They'll look a lot like your car, if you drive one of these:

All in good fun...

i have Piloti's (the low tops). th6ey were $75 from piloti's website. they are great for autox because they are comfortable enough to wear around the paddock all day, but the have a reinforced area where you "heel-toe/sidestep," a very thin sole for good pedal feel, and are nomex lined. i'm very happy with mine. there are about 5 other types to choose from, i invite you to take a look.

For those of you who are considering moving up to track events and/or actual wheel to wheel racing, I would suggest getting a mid to high top shoe. This style of shoe will give you an overlap area with the driving suit increasing the fire protection of your safety gear.
