still no spark....tried everything, please help!!
This is my second post here, I'm at my wit's end w/a 1900 crx dx (1.5l dual point fuel injection).
Details:
1} when i bought the car i was told that it needed a distributor (did not come w/one). purchased one at junkyard (distributor #td-01-i think that that's the right one).
2) i get no "hello" flash from the ecu when i turn the key on, no flashes at all. check engine light remains on. ive tested wires to ecu for voltage w/a meter & have 12 volts to several of them.
3) tested my main relay & it passed all tests. was still advised that the main relay may be bad. bought one today, put it in & still no change.
4) main relay clicks once when the "on" position is reached, then again at the "start" position.
5) don't hear fuel pump, but can jump the wires at the main relay & get fuel pump to run.
6) have power to coil, but when meter is attached to it & engine is turned over the meter does NOT fluctuate.
would a bad fuel pump relay cause a no spark condition, & more importantly a "no hello flash from ecu" condition? where is the fuel pump relay located?
i'd hate to go out & spend the $$ on another ecu & have that not be the problem.
any help would be greatly apprectiated.

Buy a NEW dizzy , if it don't work return it, How do you know your Junkyard dizzy is good anyways?
but would a bad dizzy cause a no "hello flash" from the ecu. i'd like to confirm this before spending that kind of $$. thanks
Ive never heard of this "hello flash"
The fuel pump relay is the main relay. That relay is responsible for a couple different things.
Anyway. Just saying that several wires get 12V doesnt mean that everything is ok. You need to get a wire diagram and check out every wire that will effect spark or fuel.
Its strange that you can jump the wires at the main relay and get it to turn on. Usually that would indicate the relay is bad, but you got a new one.
Also get a wire diagram for your dizzy wires. So there is a lot to try and test. But you could also buy a new dizzy from the distributor king off of ebay. Pretty cheap and brand new.

what you need is a dual lead test light, a dual lead test light will show you if you have a bad dizzy or bad coil, when hooked up the test light will show one color light usually red, when the car is spinning over it will switch to green everytime it is supposed to fire. trust me on this i have gone through this a thousand times. the other thing is the altenator fuse will cause this same problem believe it or not.
