Thanks for the info.... I gave him a call he told me he doesn't have a dyno but he could street tune for a very resonable price or he could rent a dyno and tune .

wait, so owning an R and having a shop makes you a good/reputable tuner? Oooook.

I have had a lot of experience (and friends have as well) with a lot of shops in the area from '02 to present, and there are far more i would not recommend compared to how many I'd endorse. Every shop has a lot of fanboys on here, but that does not make them good/knowledgeable/reputable/trustable shops. The more time you spend around here and at shops in the area, the more you realize there are a lot of pretenders and fakes willing to do 'just enough' to get you out the door, but where are they when their work has f-ed up your car when you're out of state, stuck on the highway? I'd rather make sure I get it done the right way.

king.. i dont know who is tuning for them these days. That sort of makes a big difference in whether to recommend someone right? :sigh:

chris - who would recommend charlie, or any place Wai recommends some of the recommendations in this thread are.... funny.

... lots of people doing a lot of tuning who dont know hondas very well, so why go there? I'd rather go somewhere I've never heard complaints about....

Well my bestfriend is has a shop that specialize in Honda maintenance and honda turbo setups, but they also have a person who can perform wideband tuning at a price that is lower then other shops in the Chicagoland area. If i wasn't so broke, i would have gone to them to do a Obd2 to obd1 conversion. But i heard they were able to fine tune a Euro R Accord spec H22 that was swapped into a EK coupe (they did the swap as well). IF you're interested i would say just give them a call and see what they have to offer.

I've heard the same thing for a few years now. there are times when my friend would get the "screw-ups" from one6 customers.

no offense to mark, as he's always been a good guy at events

but i would not even go there for a tire rotation

clitz - who is capable rotating his own tires, but you get the point.

I still order parts from One6 every now and again cause Mark usually hooks me up. If you see him tell him Ryan from MA says hello

As far as performance parts, One6 is one of the best when it comes to having parts to buy on hand. I can admit to buying some things from them when i needed them back in the day. I don't have a need to go back to one6. But they did get my car in and out when i needed a clutch. But as far as tuning goes, i don't much about One6.

check out this thread since it's relevant and OnePointFive sums it up really well...
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2332294

I've also heard that speedquest is trying to turn around under the new ownership, but I haven't heard for sure how that's working out...
They have a seriously bad reputation that will take a while to heal.

Pro Function still gets my vote for the better tuner in the area. Especially since they have an eCtune dealer license now.

Speedquest is turned around Freddy is the **** (Owner) at tuning and builds. No lie he is pumping out at least 10 complete builds a month and I know for a fact that nobody has had any problems. Of course you are going to hear that he said she said bullshit. Hands down their fabrication skills are on point the welds look like they were done by a machine. Everything coming out of that shop is sick now. A little advise though don't bring him some hacked up ****. Have him do it from the start that way it will be done right
