Ignition Timing Service Connector Q's
I recently adjusted the ignition timing on my JDM B16A but I didn't jump the service connector. I used a timing light to check and right now its dead on. 16 degrees btdc. The dizzy was damn near fully advanced before I adjusted it and after adjusting it I really didn't notice a difference in driving it like I would have expected. As the car sits now I can let it fully warm up and throw a timing light on it and its dead on. Should I jump the service connector even though the car is already in time?
when I jump my service connector for base timing the difference was like 28 degrees last time. The difference in theory is that it will be a base time and not having the ECu adjust to engine conditions. Basically the marks should stay steady at idle with the connector jumped. I adjusted mine with the connector and then looked at it after I disconnected the connector and adjusted the light to 28 degrees to line it up so the base was definatly different. I would double check if I were you with the service connector, because if the timing is too advanced it will ping and if its too retarded it will lose performance/fuel economy.

Should you jump the connector as per the manufactures procedure for setting your timing? Yes. I dont even see why you made a thread for this.
