Default 95 Del Sol worth $3000?

I saw an ad on craigslist that was selling a red (not sure if it matters) 1995 Del Sol for $3000. The engine is swapped to a B16A engine and it comes with a complete sound system and strut bars. The car is clean title and has a dent in the passenger side fender. The odometer reads 180xxx but the engine has about 80-90k on it. I was thinking about buying this car and was wondering if this is a good buy. Any opinions? Thanks

I say go for it. Fenders are easily replaced. If theres no quarter panel rust it is completely worth it.

i will grab it if you wont. a OBD1 B16A swap costs about 3000 when all the necessary parts/stuff is put in and ready to roll.

just make sure the engine is legit, and the car isnt crashed before

There's a bunch of things you wanna do.. see when and who did the swap -- that's really important.

Get to know the person that's selling the car -- you're buying the person as much as the car.

Check out the car inside and out before jumping to any decisions -- take it for a thorough test drive and make sure everything seems to be up to snuff.

I'm assuming it's manual?

ha thats awesome go for it. My buddie had a 93 Del Sol with an H22 and sold it for 2700... since the H series is one of the hardest swaps, whoever swapped it did a bad job. There was lots of **** goin on with that del sol.

I misread the ad on craigslist, and I found out that the engine is a B16A3 engine that was swapped into the Del Sol. Do you guys still think its worth $3000 assuming that the engine is legit?

a b16 is really just a b16 (minus or plus a few sensors i think)
so as long as everything is in order there should be no reason why not

i had a del sol in the past, dont get caught up with the ad. make sure the seals for the targa top are still in tact and working.so when it rains and stuff, water doesn't get inside. i learned the hard way. but for $3k, b16 swapped del sol isn't a bad price. good luck with everything

When you go to check out the car, don't forget to point out all the negative aspects about it to the seller and than lowball him

Didn't the red paint back then get really powdery?

That sound like a good deal to me, what part of the country is it in? Also check to see it there is a salvage title. Because people will try to trick you these days.

If the car is clean, everything is mechanically sound and working, and of course the car and the engine are not stolen, then $3k is a hell of a deal. Go for it!

I've owned several del sols, 93,94 and 95. The 95 was definitley the better chassis. Solid and doesn't sway like the 93-94. $3k is just about the expected price, if not a bit lower than usual for a clean one.
