Default k24 cylinder head

i work at honda and have the oppertunity to get a k24 cylinder head for free. i was thinking of building it up: valves, springs, retainers, cams, etc. will this work for my si? are the manifolds the same bolt patterns? sensors in the same place? its from an 03 accord. just wondering because its free and i could build it and keep my car on the road at the same time. thanks.

I thought "most everyone" preferred the tsx block, with a k20 head, because the k20 head breathes better?

You fail!

Did you happen to notice he said 2003 Accord head? Which happens to be an i-VTEC-E cylinder head.

It will work, but it has a conventional cam on the exhaust side and doesnt have a high RPM cam lobe on the intake side. It has smaller port shapes. So NO, it wont work.

The K20Z3 head is the same as the K24A2 head.

SCC magazine even stated that the K20Z3 is a 2.0 version of the K24A2 with balance shafts.

True. Not worth the effort.

Not true. The k20z3 head is the RBC casting and the TSX is RBB.

Civic Si head

TSX head.

As far as the block goes, having balance shafts makes them similar but I'm not sure what else

Civic Si block (notice the price, does that seem really cheap to anyone else?)

TSX block

Are you going off part numbers alone? Those illustration pale in comparison to the article I read.

B18C5 head vs B16A2 head, same casting different part numbers. Not that many didn't know already th B18C5 cylinder head had minor bowl work done to it but many claim had a full port and polish.

spoke too quickly. I apologize. Same casting on the heads.

k24 block does have a taller 9.114" deck height compared to the k20 block's 8.350".

Yeah, thats why SCC said it was a 2.0 version of the K24A2.
