bAlLzx: i was going like 65 on the freeway and i had it on neutral then i thought i shift it to 4th gear and accidently put it on 2nd and i hella steped on the gas for like 5 seconds then i notice it was on 2nd so i put it to 4th but it didnt go anymore

the car doesn't run anymore. Its a base model RSX he doesn't know what year and doens't have pictures so i can't see what year it is

 

When you say he put it into 4th and it wouldn't go anymore, do you mean it wouldn't go into 4th or the engine lost power and would go anymore?

 

Just because you said he had it in second and was able to gas it for 5 seconds leaves me to think the engine isn't blown, rather the transmition is. But you say it won't start now, so I don;t really know what to think.

I just did the same thing last week! It's not your trans it's your motor. Check your spark plugs. If there banged up on the ends, you drop your valve's.

thats exactly what i bet happend.

 

can he shift gears in the car when its turned off?

 

My guess, from what he is saying, is a bent/dropped/broke valve (hopefully nothing else is broke, cihpped or what have you). If it doesn't run anymore (meaning it can't start) then it has nothing to do with the trans.

 

how could he not of had realized he was redlining for 5 seconds? The car expletiveing screams at the higher end.
