Default Whats the best DIY method to paint an OEM lip kit?

This is my 1st time but from what I've read in these topics, all you have to do is sand it down, prime it, then apply the spray on top. I need specific details though about what kind of grid I need to sand it and what else. This is for a 94 accord OEM lip btw. Also, do I need to use any sort of machine like a buffer? Or is everything going to be fine with bare hands?

depends on what kind of paint you are using and how slick it turns out to determine if you need to buff it out or not. you can ruff up the primer using 320 and then up to a 400 or so, then paint over it.
