Ok. I searched this forum for details on how to paint wheels, But i did not find everything i was looking for so I'm posting this.
I recently bought some HX wheels that were black. I removed the paint to the bare metal and put them on my REX for a while. Now i want to paint them WHITE.
1) What should i use to REMOVE the GREASE and BREAK DUST from the rims before i paint them?
2) What type of WHITE paint should i use? Dupli-Color? Or...??
3) Should i PRIMER them before i paint them WHITE?
4) Should i just paint them WHITE with WHITE PRIMER??
5) Should i put a CLEAR COAT on the rims after i paint them?
I have seen a bunch of WHITE HX wheels but i don't know if they have a clear coat on them or not. How different do they look with and without a CLEAR COAT?
I want them to look as close to ITR wheels as possible...
Let me know please!!!
Heres a picture of my HX's right now.

DONT USE DUPLICOLOR CLEARCOAT, or any clear off the shelf or the white will turn yellow after 5 minutes of heat.

mask of tires/ valve stem
spray with aircraft stripper. (do more than once if needed)
sand wheels down if needed
lay down a nice primer of your choice
then use duplicolor white wheel paint
then use a clear of your choice/ what the guy above stated.
For the red H i just masked off the H and hit it with a cheapo red.
They came out minty
