I have a ~9lbs flywheel on my gsr and its fine to me. It takes a bit to get used to but thats easily fixed. I really dont know if it frees up anymore power but it makes driving much more fun. A lot of people dont like it in stop and go traffic though. I like mines and would never go back to stock. But theres absolutely nothing wrong with stock either.

Reduced mass will increase acceleration, less parasitic drag on the crank will improve torque in the midrange especially. Allows for easier revmatching .
Personally I do recommend 9-12lbs flywheels on B/D series, no downsides in those that I could report.

A lighter flywheel will improve acceleration, but it will not change the engine's output at all.

by going with a lighter weight flywheel, wont you get more harmonics in your motor?

Technically, the vibrations will be worsened in the rest of the drivetrain, but if it was really an issue, we would have dual-mass flywheels from the factory. You have nothing to worry about.

An undamped crank pulley could cause problems.

i guess on a relitively stock motor it wouldnt matter much. that was my only concern about putting on on, thank you for clearing that up
