Default Powerslot rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and Russel brake line ------- REVIEW!

So about a week and half ago I installed powerslot slotted front rotors with the HAWK HPS pads on my EP3 and this is an awesome setup. If anyone is wondering if they should do it, GO FOR IT! They stay very quiet while driving around town and so far aren't putting out loads of dust. Hawk did a good job and just making these good sporty daily driver pads!

I left the stock brakes on the back because they are still 10 inch rotors which will probably be totally fine for what I am doing right now. I might use some OE rotors with high compound pads on the rear eventually.

And then today I installed RUSSEL (Division of Edelbrock) stainless steel braided brake lines on all four corners!

I haven't tested out the new brake lines under heavy braking but I am sure they will be awesome. The new rotors and pads are already making a HUGE difference and my tires grip really well while braking too which helps assist the brakes.

So we don't really have a product review sectioin but I give the setup and A+!

Good to hear. I installed Hawk HPS pads, Russell SS lines, and motul brake fluid and what a difference it made. The car actually kept braking hard after a couple 100+mph stops. The stock brakes would beg for mercy after one hard 100 mph brake.

I did. I followed Hawks instructions very carefully. Including no hard stops for 500 MPH. That was VERY hard to do cause I was so anxious to try them out.

I can make multiple 60ish MPH stops with no fade. It is nice.

I am only using DOT 4 fluid. Dunno how that compares to the Motul fluid but it has a wet boiling point of lke 311 degrees...

See, aren't you glad you didn't spend the $$ on a big brake kit? The upgrade you did will work fine for almost everything.

Pads make a huge difference. The only thing SS lines will do is increase brake pedal 'feel'. It's still a decent upgrade, though. Sometimes I don't recommend them for daily driving because they have been known to rub or get sand in them and wear, but keep them clean and secured and they'll be fine.

Cool and all, but Autozone rotors for $13.99 are the heat.

P.S. What Todd said

You are right Todd00. This is a plenty fine upgrade...

Although I spent almost the same price as the big brake upgrade. I still think the big brake kit would be bad *** but I didn't wanna have to buy new wheels and stuff.

As long as this setup is working great then I have no need to upgrade.

I haven't noticed a difference in the way it feels driving around town. Still feels like normal brakes.

Stock for stock the Si pulls a high skid pad rating than the WRX and that is WITH the crappy michelin tires.

It will happen...

i use brembo blanks on all 4 corners, hp+ pads and ATE fluid.. it was ment for track stoping, and is exactly what it does.. i can go 00 to nil about 50 times in a row and ever feel a diffrance, no ss brake lines tho because track dirt kills ss lines without covers on them .. i may do it eventualy but i have no need right now.. and i see them as a waste of money on a daily drivin vehicle.
