Honda del Sol apparent electric failure.. help will be appreciated..
How is everyone doing?
Car bogged until finally turning off while running, hasn't started again since Monday..
Went out with an apparent electrical failure that I am still searching.. got me crazy.. let me list all I checked already and let me know what am I leaving out..
No spark is being lit..
I have gone completely over two different ignitions checking everything from coil to ICM and they pass all tests, went over this twice with friends and both ignitions pass completely testing out everything in it..
My spark plugs all are well in the working range..
I installed new sparks also...
Nothing happens..
Motor was checked and the timing is correct this wouldn't solve my spark problem but just checked for peace of mind..
I tried using a friends main relay in case it was the problem still won't start..
I changed out my ECU and mine turns on other cars..
Car has fuel pressure and everything and the motor turns over perfectly with no strange noises as it was out of correct timing..
I have a cheap alarm system but it was working fine I am about to uninstall it in case no current is available due to the alarm faultily triggering itself due to a defective module..
I don't know what I am leaving out.. I think all that is left is to check for a continuous signal from the ECU harness up into the engine bay to the ignition harness!!!
We checked all grounds in the engine bay and all are connected properly..
Going crazy here.. what can I check next?

How are you checking for spark?

Thanks for your reply..
Yes we tried different distributors.. I have three complete ignitions which we have checked and they work fine on other cars and all have been checked to be in range specs with the haynes manual I keep as a Bible..
For spark we tried old school way with a screwdriver in the plug and taking it to a bolt and also with the spark plug connected directly to the plug and starting up..

Thanks for replying, yes we verified the coil and it is in parameters, we exchanged it for another one that was working on a car and still wouldn't turn on.
Yesterday the alarm was completely bypassed by an alarm technician and no response, I am going to check for continuity from the ECU cables up into the engine bay towards the ignition today..
Any other suggestions?
Please excuse any misspelling, thanks again for the help..

Have you checked that your ignition switch, where your key goes in? I ask this because I have owned Hondas for many years and been on many message boards and the ignition switch seems to be a unifying problem for the cars not running properly. If you take the panel off under the steering wheel, you should be able to check for voltage.

Hello Chris, thanks for your reply.
No I have not checked the ignition switch, I believe you are the second person to address this. I will be working on the car in the afternoon and I will be checking this, to see if this could be the cause of my problem. Thanks again, Esteban
