Clutch or CV Axle?
Well I'm turning to the professionals here at Honda-Tech for some input on what this could be. Yesterday I was driving home from my girlfriends house when all of a sudden as I was crossing an intersection (from a stop) my gear popped out of first!?! So I pull/roll over to the curb and automatically assume it's my clutch. But, there were no signs of wear and the clutch has been working fine. I just had the tranny replaced about a year an a half ago. The weird thing is when I put it in first and start letting out the clutch the car doesn't move but it also doesn't stall when the clutch is fully engaged.
So I check all fluids and check for any leaks. So far everything seems to be fine. Then I started looking at the axles I just replaced this weekend. I did purchase the axles from Autozone so that could be one of the problems. I noticed that the boot closest to the tranny was caved in. So I'm thinking (and hoping) it's just a bad axle. What do you guys think? Wouldn't the car still stall even with a bad axle?
Thank you in advance for reading this.

my 2 cents, sounds like either a) the inner cv joint pulled apart (you said the boot was colapsed) or b) you didnt get the axle fully engaged in the transmision when you installed them - either way theyre easy to fix. if the axle came out or came apart at the cv then no your car wont stall if in gear and clutch engaged
I agree w/ nub.
I had almost the same problem yesterday. My axle wasnt all the way in. So I jammed it in there and heard another click which I now I know its fully in there. Goodluck..
Yea.. I had to work in the rain, but I found it kinda fun... the wrench busted my eyebrow open.. was yanking under the car and the wrench let loose and got me
haha anyways goodluck.

Well, we were blessed with a clear sky last night so I was able to change out the axle. It was the inner joint after all. YAY!
What's REALLY funny is when I went to Autozone (off Lambert) to explain what happened, the "manager" there said that it was my fault the joint was defective and that their Autozone (rebuilt) axles are WAYY better than OEM axles!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH sorry, I thought I'd let you guys have a little laugh as well....
