The unreliable ones prolly have 200000 miles on the block and 175000 miles on the head, build one right and no worries.
You get what you put into it. If you use a junkyard block with a beaten oil-stained head, your luck will run out soon.
Use your head when you get your parts. Do a clean and proper build and your golden.
My LS V runs great.
Goodluck!

Here's something else to consider. Even if the engine is in good shape, you can't expect a reliable setup from some slopped together deal. If you just slap a B16A head on an LS bottom end, you are NOT going to have a reliable setup. The LS-VTEC has gained a bad reputation because ALOT of people look to this setup as a cheap way to get a 1.8 liter VTEC. But if you do it cheap, it is NOT going to be reliable.
thanks everyone for their responds. yea im thinking of getting a b18b from PWjdm and buying my friends 2000 civic si b16 head, the head only has .. 50k miles on it and he recently swapped to a gsr. ill post pics of the parts after i get all the components.
