Default Defroster question? (right forum?!?!)

Not sure if this is in the right section but hopefully I can get an answer. I recently helped my friend out with replacing his top on his s2k with a robbins glass top. The old top had a plastic window (ap1) and the car is not wired for defrost, the new top has defrost tho and I'm trying to find a way to hook it up. Is it as simple as just wiring it up to a switch or do I need some type of module. Thanks in advance.

You will need a "module", the defrost is "high current" so a relay is needed
the relay needs to be controlled by a timer, [you can buy the timer module]... http://www.stealthlabs.com/relaystimers.html and a simple momentary, [push button] switch to trigger the timer. 94

How about if I don't want it timed? (small window) can I just wire it up to a relay and have the relay triggered by a switch?

Yes, but will you, [your friend] remember to turn it off once the window is defrosted? 94
