Default My Project - DX Auto -> B18 Swap + Manual Conversion - W/ Pics

Bought my car a couple years ago. Threw an AEM intake, some rims.. thought it was cool - Drove it around until it hit 194k then it blew up. Figured that if I was going to replace the motor, why not go all out and make it what I've always wanted to.. Soooo

The Day I got it. First mod was to take the tail lights off and put on the Si/EX tail lights.

Kept it that way for about a year. Then started putting more and more money into it. Found a tard who bought a 98 Civic EX 2 Dr like mine, BUT it was a 5 spd, also boosted on a stock y8. Kid ran it 15psi on stock internals and without a doubt blew it up. So I bought it from him for my parts car. The parts car came with some goodies like Integra Seats, Momo Race Wheel, Lambo doors...etc

Anyway, heres the progress of my build up

Then my motor blew up - Out with the old - In with the new. Ordered the Complete Change-over from Hmotorsonline.com with the JDM B18C

Auto to Manual swap (was easy following the walkthough on HT)

New touch screen

Almost finished my motor swap, waiting on some parts to complete it.. I'll post more when its done.

Oh btw, if u plan on doing some serious work on your car ie: motor swap or anything that requires the door being opened frequently, dont put lambo doors on. If I could go back I would have sold them and never put them on :-\

nice car.nice paint job. but not really a big fan of lambo doors and body kit.
the manual shifter is direct bolt on? no cutting hole required ?

only thing I had to cut was the holes for the 2 bolts that hold the shifter into place. Had to cut out the windplate underneath the car with a dremel so that the shifter would mount into place. it was pretty easy.

I would change out the body kit for oem bumpers and lose the aftermarket side skirts for oem ones -- and perhaps switch up the wheels for something a little less ricey.

Kudos to you for auto to manual and the motor swap though!

Nice, good plan to go 5spd and nice motor choice. That thing almost looks like a m3 with that body kit from the door back, lol.

Nice build. Any other plans for the car?

And get some OEM head lights! Any tech on the swap? Problems at all dropping it in the bay, wiring, or something?

I have the HID Conversion with H1 Bulbs, which are specific to my projector headlights. In the pics right after I got it out of paint I had the CTR Headlights on, They're sittin in the basement right now.

As of future plans for the car.
After the engine swap I'm doing the Si rear disc conversion, Skunk2 Rear LCA's, Skunk2 Front and Rear Camber, ASR Rear strut brace.. Probably drilled/slotted rotors after that.

Problems - Many
I'm going from an Auto to a Manual. Auto Transmissions have an assload of sensors. Manual's dont. Therefore I've got some sensors that are just there not being used.
Adding the pedal was a bitch. Cause I had to add the brake pedal from the parts car too because the auto one was too wide.
Right now my clutch safety switch is being gay - Having everything hooked up in the engine bay and then trying to start it and watching it do nothing when I turn the key is more then painful.got to figure that out within the next day or two. I'll let cha know what I find out
