ITR swap in 91 hatch
So i've scoured ht and hondaswap as well, and just plain searched through google as well but i can't seem to find any kind of writeup or parts required list to do a b18c5 swap into an EF. Heres what i came up with just off the top of my head.
-b18c5 engine/tranny/ecu
-rywire harness
-b-series mount kit with side mount for hydro tranny, (hasport EFB2 kit i think)
-hydro to cable clutch conversion (not sure where to get)
-axles (i think i need 90 DA axles, really not sure)
-shift linkage
-make dent on left-hand frame rail for alt. pully clearance (i know this was true for an ls swap so im thinking its the same for this as well)
hmm that seems to be all i can think of at the moment
ooh and i was wondering what i have to do for the speedometer. since its a cable speedo in the EF and i cant help but imagine its a electronic speed in the s80 itr tranny.
so if anyone would like to add to this, clarify, or correct something it'd be greatly appreciated. or if you have a link to someone who has done this with a writeup or whatnot i could really use that too lol. thanks

anyone?
addition to above post: i think i figured out that i need to swap out the electronic VSS for a manual one in order to work with my speedo, but what manual vss do i use. from what year honda and transmission. like a b series tranny on a 91 ls motor or what?
has no one done an itr swap into an EF hatch and documented it

1) Yes/Yes/No. You can use any OBD-1 ECU that has the correct maps installed, unless you are in a state that follows CARB rules that would require you to retain the stock OBD2B ECU.
2) Yes, but OBD-1 can be done yourself if you have the *****.
3) Yes, as well Innovative has the same offerings
4) No, included in 3
5) Axles are dependent on half-shaft
6) Can be purchased from mount manufacturer.
7) Yes

ive been through there but i cant find anything specific to the c5. i did a ctrl-f on the whole page the other day for b18c5, b18, type r, itr, and i get virtually nothing. like two articles; one pertaining to headers and another to suspension. its not that i didnt try but everything seems to be about b16s for the most part.

Right I understand. But don't you think all B-series stuff into and EF chassis is similar? That is why I put out the FAQ. LS/VTEC B20/VTEC B16
Thank You Dr_Latino999

dr latino: thanks so much, that was quite helpful. I have two questions though.
You said the axles depend on the halfshaft correct, so assuming i use the one that comes with the c5 what axles would i need. Is there a better combo of halfshaft and axles i should look at getting that would either work/fit better for this particular application?
and for the speedo problem im thinking i will just change the speed sensor in the transmission. that being said what manual speed sensor can i use in the s80 trans, and what tranny would i find one in? since im assuming the manual vss in the d series tranny i have now is not going to work.
----------
About the b16s being the same for the most part i kinda figured they would be quite similar but i didnt know for sure so thanks for that bit of information lol. i was just curious if there was a writeup specifically for the itr swap so that way someone like myself isnt second guessing what i do and do not need to complete the swap
